FAQs

Why choose Catch of the Hamptons?

Skip the middle man and buy from local fishermen.

We strive to supply only the highest quality seafood. Our boat, F/V Legacy is responsible for supplying most of not all of our local seafood species'. We work with other local fishermen to fill in any gaps.

Choose Local...

-On average, imported seafood goes through ~20 people before reaching your plate, while local seafood goes through 3 or less.

-In the US, we import over 90% of our seafood, despite having some of the best management practices and one of the largest coastlines in the world!

-Choosing local also helps to support small businesses.

To ensure all of your seafood-needs are met, we work with suppliers world-wide to ensure your non-local fish options are fresh, safe, and delicious.

Where is the fish from?

For local species: All of our seafood is off of our own boat, F/V Legacy, or another Long Island-based vessel whom we work with. We are docked in the Port of Shinnecock, in Hampton Bays NY.

Non-Local species: For all other species that are not found in our own waters, we strive to find the freshest, highest-quality options to ensure your satisfaction. We take into account cost, freshness and transport time, sustainability practices, and overall quality when searching for partners. For specific information about one of our non-local offerings, please contact us and we would be glad to assist you.
